Getting started
How do I add something to watch?
Open Netra and choose Add a playlist. You can add a stream link (Stream URL), an M3U playlist from a web address, your own server with a server address, username and password, or files from your device (phone and tablet).
I just want to look around first
Choose Try the demo on the Add a playlist screen. It's a small sample library, with no account and no typing.
Typing on a TV is slow. Is there an easier way?
Yes. On your TV choose Add a playlist, then Receive from phone. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera and Netra opens on your phone so you can pick a playlist to send. Or, in Netra on your phone, open the playlist (Settings, then Playlists), choose Send to another device and type the short code. Your playlist is sent encrypted from one device to the other. You can also paste a single link and Netra fills in the details.
If something doesn't work
It says my sign-in failed, or the address can't be reached
Check the server address (including the port, such as :8080), the username and the password with the service that gave them to you. Make sure your device is online. Some services only allow one stream at a time, so stop watching on other devices and try again.
A channel or video won't play
Try again, then try a different quality in the player menu. Playback depends on the stream and on the service that hosts it. Netra may not be able to play every format.
A playlist loads but is empty or in the wrong order
Open the playlist (Settings, then Playlists) and choose Reload content. If it is still wrong, check the playlist with the service that provided it.
Casting doesn't find my Chromecast
Put your phone and Chromecast on the same Wi-Fi network and allow Netra to use the local network if asked. Some formats can't be cast and Netra will say so.
The TV guide is blank
The guide appears only when your playlist provides programme information. Not every playlist does. If your provider gives you a separate guide address, add it on the playlist’s page under Guide address.
Your data
Where are my playlists and passwords stored?
On your device only. Read the privacy policy for the full details, including the short-lived relay used when you send a playlist to another device.
How do I remove a playlist or all my data?
Open the playlist (Settings, then Playlists) and choose Remove playlist. To remove everything, clear the app's data in your device settings or uninstall Netra.
